About us

Every town used to have one.

The shop with a bit of everything you actually need, run by someone who knew what was in it. Odds & Goods is that shop, rebuilt for the way people buy everyday things now.

Our story

A small store that reads every label twice.

Every town used to have one: the shop with a bit of everything you actually need, run by someone who knew what was in it. Odds & Goods is that shop, rebuilt for the way people buy everyday things now.

We started with wipes, because almost everyone uses them every day and few of them are made with much care. No. 01 is for cleansing, No. 02 is for the bathroom, No. 03 is for when a shower isn’t an option.

New products join the shelf one at a time, and only when they meet our rules.

Our mission

Stock the everyday essentials worth having, and explain each one in a line you can read.

One job per product, short ingredient lists, nothing added for scent.

Why we’re different

Rules, not slogans.

No. 01, No. 02 and No. 03 on an oak shelf.

01

One job per product.

Numbered, not named for a mood. No. 01 cleanses, No. 02 is for the bathroom, No. 03 is an extra-large cloth for after the gym or a long day.

02

A label key, not fine print.

Two-letter codes (FF, AF, AL, XL) give you the facts at a glance, the same way on every pack.

03

Short ingredient lists.

If the list doesn’t fit on one line, we ask why. Nothing is added for scent.

04

Sized for real life.

An extra-large 12 × 12 inch body cloth, pouches that sit flat in a bag. Sizes chosen for use, not for the shelf photo.

Our promises

The house rules.

  1. 01

    Plain labels.

What it is, what’s in it and how to use it, in normal words.

  2. 02

    Useful sizes.

Packs and cloths sized for real life.

  3. 03

    No tall tales.

Every claim on our packs has evidence behind it: a formula record, or a test where the claim needs one. If we can’t back it up, it stays off the pack.

  4. 04

    Someone answers.

Questions and ideas for the next aisle reach a real person.

What we’re working toward

Stocking the shelf, slowly.

  1. Now

    Three essentials

No. 01, No. 02 and No. 03, opening on Amazon.

  2. Next

    Tests before claims

The lab and panel tests some claims need, done before any of those words go on a pack.

  3. Later

    New aisles

One product at a time, each one passing the same rules.
